West must eat humble pie

Published on

THE coming in of China and Russia into the country in so big a way must send a message to the West which they must pay heed to if ever we are to work with them sustainably in the future.
The message rather messages are crystal clear.
Zimbabwe will not be held to ransom.
Zimbabwe will not collapse because the West withholds its ‘support’.
Zimbabwe is a sovereign country that will not be dictated to.
The West will significantly benefit by emulating the way the Chinese and Russians conduct business with other nations.
For long we conducted business following ways set by our erstwhile colonisers, ways that were not mutually beneficial, but favoured the West at our expense.
No more.
That is the biggest message, no more.
We have seen no problems with increasing cooperation with our all-weather friends for they respect us.
That is the basis we have been able to work with them, mutual respect.
Hunhu hwedu hausi kukanganiswa mukushanda kwatiri kuita navo/ubuntu bethu abuphazanyiswi yikusebenza ndawonye esikwenzayo.
They have not interfered in our politics, have not dictated how we should conduct ourselves in our communities, they have not forced us to adopt their values and way of life.
The Russians and Chinese have not questioned the deals, work and cooperation we have with some Western countries.
It is not any of their business and they have not tried to make it.
Yet the West continues to scream why we are working with the Chinese and Russians.
That is a futile scream that does not serve them.
Care about your business and your business alone, we have no obligation to explain to the West who we engage and why, we are not a colony and will never be.
We have definitely not shut our doors to the West as we will always work with progressive nations in mutually beneficial deals and not exploitative ones.
It is time that the West not just show, but truly respect us as a nation, as a people.
It is time that the West stop its bullying tactics for we will not be bullied, we are an independent people aware of their worth.
The West will benefit from appreciating the fact that they need us as much as we need them, in fact it is them that need us more.
We have all the resources imaginable and theirs long ran out.
Tine hupfumi huzhinji, ivo havana chavainacho/ silenotho enengi kukanti bona abalalutho.
And to opposition politics my advice is that they begin to work for the country.
Seeking to destroy what President Mugabe has painstakingly built will not do them any good.
Zimbabweans want the nation to thrive.
Zimbabweans that have suffered as a result of the Western-sponsored opposition parties are not ready to sacrifice the gains made thus far so that some desperate opposition political leaders gain relevance.
Opposition parties will gain relevance by pushing the agenda of Zimbabwe as espoused by the forefathers and mothers, Nehanda, Lobengula and the freedom fighters of the Second Chimurenga.
It is time that they put their shoulder to the wheel and work with the rest of progressive Zimbabweans and stop being a nuisance.
Again I say we have not shut our doors to anyone, all are welcome to work and cooperate with us in the various spheres but all, without fail, will adhere to our conditions, ours alone.
Zimbabwe is a sovereign country and will not compromise its sovereignty.
