Zimbabwe will rise again

Published on

ITS been 100 days since the introduction of the Bond notes.
Their introduction was part of efforts by the central bank to ease cash shortages that threatened to bring not just business, but the social sector as well, to a standstill.
The coming of the Bond notes averted a crisis.
It was a homegrown solution and it has worked well.
But through Western machinations, the country continues to be squeezed; the enemy is not letting up.
The enemy obviously does not take lightly to being outwitted, especially by Africans.
And Zimbabweans, being the fighters that they are, have not stopped seeking solutions to right our economy.
However, it is sad to note that there are those among us eager to do the bidding for our detractors.
Why should we have a three-tier price system in the country?
A product has three prices depending on whether one is using plastic money, the Bond note or US dollar.
That is criminal!
And we are glad the central bank has made it clear that that is illegal.
Now that we all know that the law does not permit this, let us see action.
Let people who are doing this be arrested, including those cross-rating the Bond notes with the US dollar, of which it is at par.
We all have an obligation to the motherland.
It is not just the duty of Government to get the economy working.
Iwe neni tine basa.
Patriotism is loving the country, standing by the country.
No amount of difficulties and hardships justify behaving and doing things the wrong way.
It is sad that our youths, mostly, are guilty of these nefarious activities.
While we concede that industries have closed shop and that the youths no longer have the ‘formal’ jobs, there are opportunities that have been ushered by the various empowerment programmes.
Outsiders are coming into the country and making millions of dollars that we could be making.
We have been made to hate, not only ourselves but also, our policies.
We literally refuse to see the good in our initiatives.
As a nation, we were known far and wide.
Munhumutapa is even said to have dealt with people from as far as China, Portugal and India.
This belief that the whiteman will one day return to ‘save’ you is a myth; he is not returning.
We must begin to see the value and importance of our policies and appreciate them.
We must begin at the individual level to take initiatives that will not only uplift a person but the nation.
Our youths must be citizens who have a vision for their nation, who value their heritage.
We need to recoup the lost self-confidence of our young people, continue to empower them so that they can take charge of their lives and be loyal citizens.
We must all love our country, be a people who are proud of the motherland and ready to defend it with our blood.
When we talk of the Munhumutapa Empire, Dzimbahwe, we are recalling that which fired us to shake off the yoke of colonialism.
We must rise above the trivia of denigrating each other, our policies and systems, playing into the hands of the enemy and defend our heritage as well as our identity.
Those in the West never sing praises about Africa, let alone Zimbabwe.
Yes, there is no perfect country.
Thus it defies logic when you find a son or daughter of the soil claiming there is nothing good in the country.
Who do you expect to make it good for you?
