US should leave MDC alone

Published on

THE ploy by the United States of America to meddle in the politics of Zimbabwe by sending an investigation team to establish why Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC party decided to boycott elections is baseless and a clear sign that they do not respect the democracy that they pretend to preach about.
Why and how the United States think they have the moral standing to question someone on why he would decide not to vote beats my thinking.
It would be understood if the MDC had been barred from taking part in the elections, but as it is they have exercised their democratic right of choosing not to vote and that should not be a crime.
And should ‘Chematama’ decide that he has problems relating to the electoral processes that is an internal issue that can be managed by Zimbabweans without the so-called ‘head boy’ America’s interference.
As Zimbabweans we know how to solve our disputes without outsiders’ interference.
Through history, Tsvangirai knows the importance of voting and what those who took part in the liberation struggle went through to get freedom and the right to vote among other things.
Lives were lost, families disintegrated, hopes and dreams were shattered in order to achieve freedom and the right to vote among other things.
Cde Joseph Chinotimba would say ‘we died for this country’.
Hence, we cannot let outsiders dictate what they want in our issues.
This is a case between brothers, (Zimbabweans) and I repeat that outsiders have nothing to do with our issues.
And should ‘Chematama’ decide to engage in any discussions with outsiders over our Zimbabwean elections that would be tantamount to treachery.
To that we say ‘Pasi nevatengesi’!
MDC can withhold their vote just like they can vote anytime, but negotiating such fundamental political ‘rights’ with outsiders reminds me of Morrison Nyati’s treachery at Nyadzonia were over 2 000 guerillas were killed as a result of Nyati’s treachery.
It makes me sad and angry at the same time and I would not want to see this man anywhere near the corridors of power in this country until he appreciates that we are masters of our own destiny, our own freedom, our own democracy and our right to vote.
It is high time that ‘Chematama’ should realise that first and foremost he is a Zimbabwean and he should stop dreaming to be a leader until he realises that being a crybaby to the world does not make him less Zimbabwean and more European.
He should first deal with his identity crisis and seek answers from the right people.
If he wants recognition, attention, audience and respect he should look for those things at home and in Africa rather than crying to the wrong people.
We all know how these Americans easily get tired and frustrated if their agenda is not met and will soon have to turn a deaf ear on him.
Anyway we hope sooner or later, ‘Chematama’ realises the truth before it is too late.
That despite our differences, we are all Zimbabweans and we should be proud of it.
