Thank you Dr Vimbai Gukwe Chivaura

EDITOR – DR VIMBAI Gukwe Chivaura is no more.
I have seen one or two disturbing comments on social media from people whom I personally think need to be decolonised; silly comments from misguided individuals who have become nonentities of their identities.
Of course, I don’t expect everyone to agree on everything about Dr Chivaura, but the bottom line is he was one of a kind, a pan-Africanist indeed.
Being the face of Zvavanhu, African Pride and National Ethos on ZTV, Dr Chivaura was simply a patriotic man. He was consistent in emphasising the sovereignty of Zimbabwe.
The best lessons learnt from his works are that as Zimbabweans and Africans, our land is a priceless heritage which we must always fight for and defend
He sought answers on the origins of the different African tribes and exposed the different atrocities by the European settlers.
African culture, beliefs and politics were among his areas of focus. His conduct and beliefs were consistent.
There was no difference between the writer, television anchor and the real man.
Dr Chivaura never got tired of defending the rights of the African child and he even soldiered on when he was not feeling well.
We hoped he would get better, but as fate would have it, Gukwe vatisiya.
As an avid reader of The Patriot, I remember in his very last article, Dr Chivaura had promised to explain who Murenga was and how he led his children to our present land.
Sadly, the angel of death struck in the early hours of Tuesday November 24 2015.
However, one thing for certain is, Gukwe was a hero and heroes never die, they fade away and their works and principles will forever be entrenched in Zimbabwean minds.
Thank you Dr Vimbai Gukwe Chivaura for all you did for us as black people.
Indeed you were one of a kind. RIP.

  1. It is disheartening to see that some black people foolishly believe in the goodness of the whitemen that on behalf of their slave master they spill bile towards anyone who defends anything that is African…

Those comments in the papers of people who even said demeaning things against the departed Patriot in Dr Chivaura is a sign of how hateful the opposition and its supporter is towards all that is African..

I get worried and even scared of such self hatred, because it is this kind of hatred which leads one to shout on top of a mountain against their own best interests that breads terrorists and people who will invite sanctions and even Nato to bomb their own brothers and sisters…

Truth of the matter is the opposition and their supporters have become a threat to national security and their negativity at all that promotes African interests is out of line…

Surprisingly they are all positive when it comes to terrorist sponsors like the USA and EU and yet forget it is those countries who are determined to see them starve till they hand over that land back to Rhodesians…

Wake up African people,Europeans dont love you
