EDITOR – I HAVE been on your page and website for hours.
I am amazed and overwhelmed by the depth and intensity of your articles that reaffirm our nationhood, identity and Zimbabwean dream.
It is my prayer that such literature would reach every Zimbabwean local or abroad. But alas, most of our so-called highly literate compatriots would rather watch Dstv or BBC than read your life changing thoughts.
I don’t blame them, but our post independence education system that has left a strong colonial grip in the mindset of our people.
However, slowly your paper is dismantling this mental falsehood.
I am glad to find compatriots, who believe that our Africanness is not a curse, but a blessing.
A God-given privilege.
I am so tired of walking in the street and meeting women upon women who are bleaching their skin so that they become lighter.
Why do we hate who we are?
I always ponder when I meet such ‘make-uped’ women and neo-colonised men.
But as compelling as your message may be, few get to hear it.
Even in Zimbabwe most easily dismiss it as ZANU PF propaganda even the so-called educated.
As I read your articles, I realised how they were inspiring me to write and produce films based on your arguments.
Your paper is so strategic and besides opening the minds of our people, it should do all it can to promote mediums that can amplify the message of your publication the way films would.
Thank you for making me feel proud to be a Zimbabwean.
You are doing amazing work.
I honestly feel that some of your articles, their depth and quality could be reproduced in some of the big names within the Zimpapers publications where quality and depth of some contributors is a bit shallow.
Note, I said some and not all.
You have inspired me.
And if you can now do that to the other millions of Zimbabweans, we will definitely create the Zimbabwe we want.
