Be wary of pseudo residents associations

Published on

THE West has a tendency of manipulating people.
This week we carry the story of some so-called ‘residents associations’ being fronted by agents of regime change.
It is no secret that the country has always had residents associations because these were created to serve the needs of communities.
Sadly, pseudo-residents associations have cropped up.
Regime change agents, unhappy with the Government of the people which has faithfully served the masses, have had their efforts to usurp power thwarted at every turn.
But they will not give up.
They (regime change proponents) continue to craft strategies to eject from power a duly elected Government.
And this time around, they are using their ‘best’ agents, who have been thoroughly schooled in Western ideology to influence communities to rise against the Government.
This week we show how so-called residents associations have been recruited to help whip up people into a frenzy that must degenerate into chaos.
Already in Bulawayo, small groups, for a fee, have marched in the streets protesting against noble ideas such as the installation of water meters.
All these efforts have nothing to do with service delivery, but are an attempt to put the country under international spotlight.
There is no crisis in Zimbabwe and thus there can be no ‘international intervention’.
It is not surprising that the leaders of these so-called residents associations have their roots deeply embedded in Western institutions and programmes.
Regime change proponents have finally figured out that it is the people who matter and that their billions of dollars will never topple the Government of the people.
Thus they are engaged in these futile attempts to engage the masses.
But the leaders of these associations are tainted people.
They are crooks and thugs with well-documented histories of selling out.
And the people will not be fooled.
Zimbabweans know who they are and where they have come from and where they are headed.
We are the owners of everything we have.
Our economy has been indigenised.
And we shall not listen to anyone telling us to rise and destroy our very essence.
We cannot rise against ourselves, can we?
As noted in our story, residents associations in the country include: Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA), Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BPRA), Gweru Residents and Ratepayers Association (GRRA), Gwanda Residents Association (GRA), Victoria Falls Combined Residents and Ratepayers Association (VICAFORA), Kariba Residents Association (KRA), Kwekwe Residents Association (KURA), Kadoma Residents Association (KRA), Mutare Residents and Ratepayers Association (MURA), Chiredzi Residents Association (CRA), Masvingo United Residents Association (MURRA), Buhera Residents Association (BRA), Bindura Residents Association (BURA), Mutoko Residents Association (MRA), Chitungwiza Progressive Residents Association (CHIPRA), Chitungwiza Residents Association (CHIRA), Mvurwi Residents Association (MRUA), Epworth Residents Representatives (ERR) and Beitbridge Residents Association.
But are all these associations genuinely serving the interests of the people in their respective communities?
It becomes imperative for people to scrutinise leaders of these associations.
For example, is it by coincidence that the once vocal members of Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition (CiZC), Mfundo Mlilo and McDonald Lewanika are fronting CHRA and CHIPRA respectively?
Could it be that donor funds were no-longer trickling in at CiZC before they turned to unsuspecting residents?
Zimbabweans must therefore be wary of such agents provocateurs, lest they are led astray and abused by quislings literally singing for their supper.
