ZIMBABWE have been drawn with tricky teams in the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) draw conducted in Egypt on Wednesday.

The Warriors are in the same Group B with Morocco, Burkina Faso and Uganda.

Zimbabwe were seeded in pot one with neighbours South Africa, DRC and Ghana.

The warriors avoided powerhouse Ghana in the group stages together with South Africa.

Group B which will play their matches in Cape Town is not a tough group for the Warriors.

Morocco and Burkina Faso are the probable threats to Zimbabwe’s aspirations of surpassing the group stages in the competition.

In the two appearances Zimbabwe have made, they crashed out in the group stages.

The draw is a fair one for Zimbabwe as they are not in the same group with Nigeria and Ghana which are powerhouses in West Africa.

The Warriors have the potential of going beyond the group stage if they manage to outwit Morocco and the West Africans Burkina Faso.

Meanwhile, South Africa are in the group of death with Nigeria and Mali.

Mozambique are the minnows in Group A and the opening match will be between the two Southern African nations.

Ghana are in Group C together with Congo, Ethiopia and Libya.

Group D features Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Burundi and Mauritania.

The group is a fair one for DRC who are likely to progress to the knockout stage.

CHAN is a bi-annual soccer tournament for the locally-based players in the continent.

It presents a chance for nations to develop future senior national teams and also provides a platform for players to be scouted into lucrative leagues.

Group A

South Africa, Mali, Nigeria, Mozambique.

Group B

Zimbabwe, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Uganda.

Group C

Ghana, Congo, Ethiopia, Libya.

Group D

Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Burundi, Mauritania.
