Crunch time in PSL

IT is crunch time in the Premier Soccer League!
It will be a photo finish; anything can happen! Obviously it is the team with nerves of steel that will clinch the title.
The team that will stay calm, stick to the game that has carried it thus far, will win the league title.
Football is a pressure game. All coaches and their charges are now only thinking of how they will perform in the last five games.
In the five games to go, the top teams cannot afford to drop points, even a draw is not good enough.
Some of the top teams still have a very big chance to clinch the title. Collection of maximum points in the remaining matches is a must that cannot be overemphasised.
At this stage of the season there are no smaller teams; every team is fighting either relegation or to end at a respectable position.
Coaches must ensure consistence among the players.
This is the period teams must engage the services of sports psychologists.
Most of the weaknesses that will manifest for the top teams will be mental.
The gaffers of the top four teams Tonderai Ndiraya (Ngezi Platinum Stars), Lloyd ‘Samaita’ Mutasa (Dynamos), Norman Mapeza (FC Platinum) and Rahman Gumbo (Chicken Inn) are all shrewd tacticians.
The games going forward will be highly mental.
The psyche of the defenders and strikers has to be tip-top.
The middle of the park has to be marshalled by calm fellows.
FC Platinum are leading the league race with 59 points, second-placed Dynamos have 58, Ngezi Platinum 57 while Chicken Inn are on 55.
Ngezi Platinum Stars host Dynamos at Baobab Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Ngezi Stars are hoping to make full use of the home advantage to get maximum points.
The game has been described as one of the biggest games of the season.
A win for Ndiraya’s men will see them leapfrog their visitors into second place.
Victory for Dynamos, on the other hand would most certainly narrow the title tussle into a two-horse race with log leaders FC Platinum who enjoy a slender one-point lead.
Teams like Highlanders have had a difficult season and are set to finish the campaign empty-handed as they trail log leaders FC Platinum by a massive 19 points.
They were also knocked from the Chibuku Super Cup in the first round by Harare City to cap off a poor season.
Highlanders risk being chopped at the end of the season as they are currently sitting seventh on the log table with 40 points. They are just nine points above Shabanie Mine, who occupy the last relegation slot on the log table.
If they fail to win at least three of their remaining games, the Bulawayo giants could find themselves being dragged into the relegation dog-fight.
