Dynamos must be sanctioned

EDITOR – THE cancer of violence at matches in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) continues unabated.
It’s sad that the biggest and most followed clubs are always caught offside.
Each season, we witness incidents of violence on match officials and supporters of opposing teams.
The latest is during the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final match pitting Dynamos and Triangle at the ceremonial home of football, Rufaro Stadium.
Assistant referee Salani Ncube was hit on the head with an object and was ferried to hospital.
He could not continue with the match and had to be replaced.
Dynamos fans were responsible for the injury and must be held accountable.
I also blame the PSL administrators because they are not stamping their authority.
It’s very rare for teams to play in empty stadia as a way of punishing clubs.
The fans feel the pinch and the club will make its own efforts to stop the cancer.
In cases where teams were sanctioned to play before an empty stadium, those teams contested and had the judgments suspended in their favour.
Therefore, the PSL should stand by their word and punish teams.
I wish Ncube a speedy recovery.
Dynamos must be punished forthwith!
We cannot have hooligans in our soccer matches.
