THERE are seven clubs from Harare in the top-flight Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL).
CAPS United, Dynamos, Black Rhinos, Mushowani Stars, Harare City, Yadah FC and Herentals all host their matches at different venues around the capital.
CAPS United have gone past their biggest test this season with another commanding performance away from home against Hwange, winning 3-0.
Hwange have to pick up the pieces and approach the next away game against Harare City with some mental alertness to avoid seeing a season which started with much promise fast turn into a nightmare.
The Green Machine (CAPS United) have another important fixture at home against Chicken Inn this weekend.
CAPS United hit the nets 18 times, while Chicken Inn have scored 15 goals and conceded thrice, with the Green Machine having leaked six.
Coming from two wins, Black Rhinos did not kill the vibe and consistency as they played to a nil-all draw against Chicken Inn away in Bulawayo.
Meanwhile, the long overdue win has finally come to Highlanders.
Bosso, as Highlanders is affectionately known, had failed to score a single goal at their iconic venue, Barbourfields Stadium in five matches, leaving a huge burden on technical manager Madinda Ndlovu and his players.
Ray Lunga scored Highlanders’ first goal at home to earn their first win of the season in nine matches against the TelOne, Wi-Fi Boys.
This was a morale booster and crucial breather for the Bulawayo giants who can build on the momentum in their next assignment.
TelOne are now in 11th place on the log, from nine games, which is respectable for a team making their debut in the top flight.
With their ferocious fans solidly behind them, Dynamos struggles continued as they got frustrated after being held to a goalless draw by Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium.
The draw left Dynamos 10th on the log table with 11 points from nine games. They trail log leaders CAPS United by a massive 11 points.
Meanwhile, coming from a defeat against CAPS United, Mushowani Stars picked from where they left.
One of the few individuals to illuminate the league so far this season, Mushowani Stars kingpin, Evans Katema punished Harare City to get the winner on Sunday.
Herentals, on the other hand, have gone for five games without finding the back of the net; their last goal came last month in the win over Dynamos.
Their barren run in the PSL continued with a goalless draw against Chapungu.
