EDITOR — Zimbabwe senior men’s soccer team go into battle with Congo Brazzaville later this month in a crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group G match. 

We host them in Zimbabwe and we hope to make the National Sports Stadium (NSS) a fotress. 

It is now or never for the national team as we expect nothing short of victory to qualify for the third time at the Africa Cup of Nations. 

Please, ZIFA president Felton Kamambo, this is your first hurdle, let’s hope it is not going to be a disaster with you captaining the ship.  

We welcome the idea of selling pre-match tickets as this has been long overdue. 

We hope the confusion and disorderliness at the stadium on match day will be a thing of the past. 

There has been a lot of cash leakages at most national team matches. 

Some fans would scale the steel fence while others returned home due to frustration. 

We hope this time around entry into the stadium will be smooth, making the national team the brand it should be. 

We hope the replica jerseys will be available at reasonable prices. 

Please Mr President, make sure the national team gets all it needs for the preparations. 

We are Group G log leaders and we expect to maintain it. 

Let the boys camp before the match and have adequate preparations. 

We hope we are not going to fail this time around. 

And to Sunday Chidzambwa, we hope you are not going to do many experiments this time around. 

There are some players who have retired from international football but made a U-turn. Now they want to come back. Please may those players who were in the trenches continue from where they left off.
