Globalisation of Zimbabwe: The positives

Published on

MY attention, last week, was caught by the recognition this publication received recently at continental level.

That The Patriot has captured regional and continental attention speaks volumes about the ground that we have covered in so far as telling the real and true Zimbabwean and African story is concerned.

We have given attention to detail, to facts and to the truth in our eight-year journey as a publication.

We have told the Zimbabwean story in a way that has captured progressive minds of the world.

We have laid the ground and paved the way for the recording of our history so that future generations can tap into that rich knowledge.

We have established a platform on which Africans and the downtrodden of the world can speak about their aspirations without fear or favour.

We will continue on that path until current and future generations have a full grasp of what it means to be black and the prospects that lie ahead for them.

However, there is still a yawning gap insofar as giving our youths a rich heritage of their country is concerned.

We have talked about the need to equip our youths with the vital knowledge of who they are.

We have consistently said that their minds and hearts must be nourished with the fundamentals of our foundation as a nation, our history and how that history can shape our destiny.

Our concern naturally remains centred on the many lies that are, and have been, peddled about our country.

Critical minds will obviously be concerned about why we are on the receiving end of such diatribes and negativities.

This is because we cannot fully tell our story.

We have not really embraced our past.

We have yet to establish the link between our past and what is obtaining now.

We have yet to do away with remnants of our colonial past which are manifesting in the politics that some, in our midst, are pursuing.

Still, the inescapable realities taking place in our economy are ignored.

But these are there for all to see.

The roads, the restructuring of the economy and the stabilisation of the currency, among others, are the many positives that are being largely ignored.

It all goes down to our ideological grounding.

This is one critical aspect that we can never ignore.

This is one area that shapes our destiny and bind us together.

An area where our fight for economic revival and development should be anchored on.

An area where our collective success as a nation should be founded on.

We will fight, as The Patriot, to make that dream a reality.

We will fight to ensure that the true and real Zimbabwean story continues to attract a global audience.

We are firmly on the ground, pursuing with vigour the story of our country and our people.
