No losers in our sporting fraternity

Published on

EDITOR — The Might Warriors, Kirsty Coventry and Charles Manyuchi do not need to be disheartened by not getting the awards that many of us thought they rightly deserved.
Sport is gruelling and accolades in the form of medals and belts are achieved not in the ring but after many hours of preparation.
We know the work you have put in, not just for personal achievement, but also for the glory of the motherland. We appreciate it.
We urge you to continue working hard in your various disciplines. The people of Zimbabwe are firmly behind you.
You must not tire or be discouraged. Continue to give your all as you seek more glory and dominance locally and abroad.
We know that you will shine at the Rio Olympics.
You are our heroes and heroines —make us proud as a nation.
Those who got the awards obviously were inspired by your great exploits in your different disciplines.
You have set the pace and template of excellence that is emulated by every patriot.
You will never be losers, your spots in the sporting fraternity will always belong to you.
Future generations will know you for who you are, heroes and heroines.
