Our Warriors should win

Published on

EDITOR – I write this letter knowing that our Warriors face Mali in a crunch tie at Rufaro Stadium this weekend. I hope our boys manage to emulate the Mighty Warriors who have continued to make Zimbabwe proud in soccer. If our women can inspire the nation so much, then I feel it is imperative for the boys to take heed and make the fans happy with a polished performance. Our men’s national soccer team should never take the nation for granted like they do at times. We all love soccer and it would be good to see coach Norman Mapeza coming up with homegrown solutions for the squad. With the right frame of mind and concentration, I believe our Warriors will triumph. Hope is always the last thing we should lose as a nation and I know if we all rally behind our boys, they will not disappoint. Yes, gone are the days of the Dream Team and Peter Ndlovu in particular, but we must move on. A win against Mali is crucial in boosting our team’s morale, but for now, let us say victory is guaranteed.
