Regime change agenda still very much alive

THE US and its allies have refused to accept the July 31 election results despite having earlier said they would go by the African Union (AU) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) declarations after observing the plebiscite.
This is by far an indication that after the humiliating defeat of their puppet party MDC, the West will simply not allow Zimbabwe to go forward.
The success of this current ZANU PF Government from now until 2018 will inevitably destroy and bury the MDC for good and this is what the West and its regime change agenda have shifted their focus on.
Over the past few weeks there has been a stampede of opposition party members shifting and deciding to join the winning peoples party ZANU PF.
Both MDC-T and MDC-N have lost some of their losing candidates in the July elections who have decided to join ZANU PF.
If these senior party leaders are jumping ship in numbers barely months after elections, then by 2018 in the wave of a successful government tenure by ZANU PF will these parties have any membership left?
The regime change agenda as it was structured before the July elections failed to oust President Mugabe and ZANU PF and this has not gone down well with the West which had masterminded the plot. This has been made worse by the fact that their MDC project is now a sinking ship captained by a delusional man who refuses to accept the people’s rejection and is also now being rejected by his own party senior members and wife.
The recent resignations of Qhubani Moyo and Eric Knight are clear signs that opposition party politics in Zimbabwe has failed to convince many and therefore huge numbers are rejoining ZANU PF because it is resilient and a true party for people.
Recent attempts to evaluate the extent of their failure by interviewing Morgan Tsvangirai on Nehanda Radio and BBC have failed to garner any sympathy and the calls for Tsvangirai to go have reached a crescendo.
Former Harare Mayor, Elias Mudzuri has also given his support to those calling for the failed leader’s ouster in an article published online this week.
The West and other regime change advocates have already started their next plot to destabilise ZANU PF, the Government and President Mugabe and several new strategies are slowly becoming clear.
The US through its Harare embassy has stepped up its programmes for the youth, journalists, women and artists.
These groups are going through several workshops and some identified as young leaders are also getting fellowships to study and live in the US.
Other groups such as OSISA have also begun trainings on leadership and use of social media for the youth.
The National Endowment for Democracy has also called for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Zimbabwe to apply for funding.
These organisations will fund activities and areas that the Government is not funding with the end result being an inclination to the American way of thinking and in turn willingness to be used as an agent of regime change.
Efforts to discredit this current ZANU PF Government have already begun with the hostile so-called independent media rushing to dismiss any projects currently being undertaken by the government.
Soon after elections, there were attempts to cause panic and mayhem through statements alluding to a return of the Zimbabwean dollar and food shortages in shops.
This week there were attempts to pre-empt the much awaited Budget announcement and unnecessary denouncements of the national immunisation and Bilharzia prevention outreach being done by the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
There have also been attempts to tarnish the image of the police and prison on allegations that they are partisan and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate after the death of the Hwange elephants.
The new ZANU PF government needs to be aware of the threats to its success both locally and internationally.
The West and opposition parties simply cannot afford to see employment creation and sustainable livelihoods, food security, improvement in social services such as health education and transport all brought about by the current government.
There are plans to throw spanners in the works so as to ensure that ZANU PF support is less in 2018 from those that claim that the election was not fair during the day and at night wallow in shame and back stab each other as they accept defeats and wonder how they lost so dismally.
Government officers and ministers need to find ways to deliver and perform in their jobs as a means to shame agents of regime change and their funders.
Come 2018 when this government has performed and delivered maybe then can we say of the regime change agenda: “Takaona nyoka tikarova musoro wayo.”
