‘Spider’ on comeback trail

MUNASHE Tanjani also known as ‘Spider’ is making a comeback, with new management, after his third album failed to make an impact on the market.
The young singer will release his fourth album The King is back this April.
“I am hoping that under the new management with ‘Messenger Holiman’ my career will take off,” Tanjani said.
Tanjani, a Form Two pupil at Mount Pleasant High, is entering into teenhood and his voice is also breaking, which could disrupt his career.
The Ndirikuwachisa hitmaker made waves on the local scene while in the Fifth Grade.
At 10 he shared the stage with the likes of Winky D, Mavado and Mr Vegas displaying unquestionable talent.
However, the youngster has since dumped his uncle Jiggaz Antidote, his first manager, for Brian Hazangwi also known as ‘Messenger Holiman’ who is a gospel reggae artiste.
Although Hazangwi’s expertise is yet to be proven as he is not known in the popular reggae circles, he seems to have high ambitions for the young artiste.
“Spider’s father approached me saying he wanted me to work with his son and l accepted,” he said.
“I had long noticed the young lad’s potential, but realised he lacked ‘real’ management.”
The new manager who admits it is his first gig revealed his future plans for the young dancehall singer which includes approaching established brands that deal with school children.
“This will mean that his lyrics will have to be clean and he will be an advocate for good behaviour discouraging youth from ‘dancehall lyrics about ghetto drugs like ‘bronco’ and marijuana,” said Hazangwi.
The young dancehall singer also opened up about juggling school and a demanding career.
“I think my schoolwork is improving although I struggled during the first year of high school as the subjects and workload increased added to a demanding career,” Spider said.
The young dancehall prince revealed that he scored eight units for his final Grade Seven examinations and has been paying his own school fees since his career kicked off.
The manager also revealed that his plans for the young star will see the young lad not performing in clubs or during the week in order not to disturb his schooling.
Hazangwi said Spider was in the process of organising with a promoter in South Africa for a tour of the country.
