BEN AMMI came at a time that the black struggle of America was now lacking direction.
He spoke no one was defining the victory of their people anymore.
“An individual, who does not know when he is winning, does not know when he is losing.”
He said that winning cannot be defined for us by the enemy who oppresses us because his win is our loss.
Blacks in America had by then acquired political positions and some of them were financially prominent but this did nothing to solve the black people’s overall problems.
Rather, things had gotten worse since blacks began cooperating with whites, particularly in terms of morality.
This was because blacks were allowing whites to define victory for them.
Ben Ammi defined the victory of black Americans as getting closer to God and their loss as getting further from God.
He said that the devil will not make his evil intentions towards us obvious, but will disguise his ways in a false religion and government that many will be deceived into accepting as God’s.
For example, the devil will promote immorality through human rights.
The whites of America accept homosexuals and transsexuals into their society under the guise of human rights.
Those who are against these forms of perversion are labelled as homophobic and are frowned upon in Europe and the USA.
Of this Ben Ammi said; “We are not homophobic, we just have a taste (essence) of God in our veins.”
He also explained that there are unseen cosmic laws that are known as laws of relativity which govern the world.
These are the laws of God that mankind cannot circumvent.
For example, the love of a parent to a child is shown by chastising it and not sparing the rod.
However, whites have taught people to spoil their children and this gives a false illusion of love, while according to the laws of God, this is spoiling and hating a child.
This is an example of the subtle ways that the devil attacks God’s people, turning them into an ungodly society.
By being part of the American dream, blacks are losing because they are drawing further away from God and this cannot help, but worsen their situation.
Ben Ammi said that blacks were afraid of change, yet they have been changing the world since time immemorial.
Blacks have changed the way they dress, their morals in order to fit the whiteman’s ‘standard’ of civilisation.
Yet they will not initiate a change that is aimed at turning back to their roots and their God.
“We have to change and stop worshipping the devils if we love our God.”
He spoke saying that as prisoners who have served a 400-year sentence as slaves in hell, blacks should handle this period as a parole before God, and vow to Him that they have repented and will not turn back to the devil’s ways ever again.
The devil’s ways are the ways of the whites that are contrary to the laws of God.
Ben Ammi said that destiny is a historically determined course of events.
He made the black Americans understand that they had done something in the past that led them to their unfavourable present.
To change their destiny, the black-Americans would have to identify their past ills and correct them.
“A new beginning dictates a new destiny, so change or you’ll perish,” said Ammi.
Ben Ammi said that blacks know all the history and religions the whiteman has taught them, but they do not know their own, nor do they acknowledge their God. Blacks around the world were and still are at risk of annihilation and until they know their own history, they are going to meet a destiny preferred for them by another people.
He also pointed out the oppression blacks had suffered the past 400 years in the hands of whites.
He would say there is a reason why the whites do not want us to know our history, and it is because if we do, then we can change our destiny.
He said that this white civilisation remains in power as a result of us not being able to lift up our head to replace it.
Whites will not relent, but will keep making plans to keep us walking contrary to our God and to keep us ignorant of our history and identity.
The devil studies our history in the Bible and he knows how to control our destiny as long as we are kept consciously or subconsciously walking contrary to our God.
He taught that the devils (whites) were prolonging their dominion on earth by restraining blacks from knowledge and wisdom.
He told the black-Americans that, “Your curse is their blessing, your captivity is their benefit and your demise is their rise.”
Thus the whites are watching the people of God carefully yet blacks cannot see themselves being that significant a people.
This inferiority complex that the whites groomed in blacks through slavery has caused them to be scared of being responsible, disciplined and principled.
Even when the blacks were freed from slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation, some of them did not want to be free because they were afraid of freedom and independence.
The whites had caused the blacks of America to believe that they were lesser than whites and even lesser than humans.
According to Ben Ammi, black-Americans only continue on the path America has set for them because they lack knowledge of themselves.
But the truth is that there cannot be freedom and peace for blacks in the land of America, because they are America’s captives.
Ben Ammi’s ideas were considered to be ‘absolute truth’ by his followers.
They realised that without knowledge of their history, they had no other way of connecting with their culture, land, language, heritage and most importantly their God.
Thus the Hebrew Israelite Americans adopted the Bible as their guide to their history and identity.
They took Israel as their homeland, Hebrew as their language, the Law of Moses as their constitution and YHWH the God of their ancestors, as their God.
By October of 1977, the Hebrew-Israelite Americans had established themselves in the land of Israel and they had Ben Ammi as their leader.
