The Ottoman Empire: Part Two

Published on

THE Ottomans had what they called a ‘Millet system’, under which they accepted Jews, Christians and other white religious groups and allocated them lands where they could fully practise their religions within the Ottoman Empire.
In 1492, the year that the Moors (blacks of Europe) were chased out of Europe, the Jews also fell victim to expulsion by the order of the Catholic Church.
The numerous Sephardic Jews who were expelled from Europe found comfortable refuge in the Ottoman Territory.
The Jews actually had their own cities within the Ottoman Empire, such as Edime.
After the passing of the Prophet Muhammad, there were Muslims who followed Muhammad’s kinsmen as their leaders. These became known as Shia Muslims. The Muslims who practised Islam through faith and scripture without necessarily following the leadership of the kinsmen of Muhammad were known as Sunni Muslims.
These were not entirely sects within Islam but simply definitive terms. There was harmony between the Shia and the Sunni on the understanding that they both practised Islam until the advent of the Ottomans.
The Turks were Sunni Muslims. However, unlike the regular Sunni Muslims, the Turks made several compromises to the tenets of Islam.
This eventually caused wars to arise between the Ottoman Empire and other Muslim nations which strictly observed the Islamic law.
The Sultan of the Ottoman Empire had Janissaries. The Janissaries were mostly European Christian converts they called ‘kuls’.
The Janissaries worked in the Sultan’s private room and they were trained at the highest academies. Many of them worked their way up to the top of the Ottoman political hierarchy.
The Ottomans incorporated all the knowledge of the ancient civilisations into their Empire. They studied Turkish, Iranian (Persian), Arabian, Greek and Roman history. They set the janissaries in the imperial council, foreign affairs, military and trade positions.
This can be compared to African nations setting up white officers in government after their independence.
The Ottomans had realised that they were in the position to control the renaissance of Europe and to negotiate cultures and trade between east and west. Many of the Ottoman mannerisms that they acquired from the West were forbidden in Islam.
The Ottomans had private lounges called harems, where they kept women who were groomed to entertain and also wed with the members of the Imperial council and royal academy.
As stated before, many of the members of these high institutions were white. The women too were almost entirely white, consisting of women brought as war captives, purchased slaves and gifts from white nations like Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Armenia and Macedonia.
Harem is Arabic for forbidden and it is forbidden in Islam to give in to lustful pleasures as did the Ottomans. This behaviour of grooming women for entertainment was done by the Greeks and Romans and it is from these groups that the Ottomans adopted such behaviour.
The women were made to serve the dynasty and many of them would find their way into government through getting married by high officials. The Ottoman Sultans retained the mothers of their children and heirs from these European women and this led to a systematic racial and cultural whitening of the Ottoman royals.
The women of the harem were trained to be dance performers, musicians and poets. The ones who would graduate at the harem would be coupled in marriage with the graduates from the Janissary.
This means that many among the general population of the Ottoman Empire were in fact people of white paternal and maternal ancestry and not necessarily descendants of Ousman, the founder of the Ottoman dynasty.
By the 1500s, the Ottoman Empire had expanded from Turkey to the whole of West Asia, Central Asia, East Europe, parts of North Eastern Europe, parts of North Africa and the western most part of Arabia.
In 1526 CE, a descendant of Ousman known as Suleyman II was Sultan and he accelerated the advancement of the Ottoman Empire towards Europe and Arabia. He had the ambition to take over the whole territory between Rome and Mecca.
The Sultan had armies marching in hundreds of thousands and many of the troops were white Janissaries. The Ottoman Empire expanded and they held the doorway to the East, dominating the coastal areas of North Africa, the Mediterranean, North East Africa, Western Arabia and Central Asia.
The Europeans since the time of Columbus began looking west to the Americas for trade goods and territory. It was the Ottoman Empire making Imperialistic exploits in the east up until the First World War in the wake of the 20th Century.
The First World War was not a war in which all nations of the world participated, but it was a war for world dominion between the European forces and the Ottoman forces.
This is shown by the drastic loss of territory that the Ottomans suffered after the end of the First World War.
Today the territory of the Ottomans only ends in Turkey and this shows that the Ottomans were indeed the losers of the First World War.
The coming of Europeans to Africa, Central Asia and Arabia accelerated during and after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.
Though the Ottoman Empire is now Turkey, the contribution of Turkish Arabs in the populations of the areas they previously conquered is still very much evident. The Turkish Arabs are in several places including Egypt, Sudan, Arabia and Iran.
The Turkish Arabs participated in many controversial European world exploits including the trade and enslavement of blacks. In East Africa, the Turkish Arabs traded black slaves from the Swahili coast to Arabia and as far as India. To this day, both Mashrik and Maghreb Arabs consider themselves superior to blacks.
The Maghreb Arabs of North Africa actually have a derogatory name for blacks called ‘kelouche’.
Some of the blacks of these areas apply hair gel in order for them to appear like people with mixed race blood. Black slavery is also still common among Arabs.
In Yemen, blacks from Africa who cross to Arabia are constantly abused; black women are sold and raped and some refugees are even shot or beaten to death by Arab officials.
For blacks to save their race and image, we need to acquire true independence from the whites and other non-black races that have enslaved and colonised us. Only then will all the other races respect us, for we will be a people able to protect ourselves and take action against the ills perpetrated against us as a people.
