Unity key to economic development

Published on

EDITOR — I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Zimbabwe as we celebrate 28 years of unity and every Zimbabwean deserves a pat on the back for achieving this.
This is a great achievement which shows that the country is moving in the right direction.
With unity, we can stand tall as a country and defend the gains of liberation.
I urge all Zimbabweans to continue to uphold the spirit of oneness as this will help us achieve all the goals we have set for ourselves.
The signing of the Unity Accord was a noble thing that our leaders did for us as a nation.
The Accord shows our leaders; President Robert Mugabe and the late VP Joshua Nkomo had a vision that went beyond their own generation.
With the prevailing peace we have managed to build our country as one.
Despite the challenges we face we have remained true to the Unity Accord and we have remained resilient towards finding home-grown solutions to our problems.
It is important that as youths we take a leaf from the standards set by our leaders.
The future generations should always be reminded about the importance of unity and working together with one vision to build Zimbabwe.
It is the duty of every Zimbabwean to ensure that the legacy of our leaders lives on.
With the prevailing peaceful environment, developmental programmes have been implemented that have not only empowered us but helped us realise the value of our natural resources.
We should continue to advocate and ensure that every Zimbabwean is empowered.
