EDITOR – MANY have tried to frighten us into submission, but have failed.
We went to fight an enemy that had superior weapons; we knew exactly what we were facing and still went to fight.
Others said we were bringing a knife to a gun fight, but we were not discouraged.
And now we celebrate 34 years of that hard won independence.
Zimbabweans rule Zimbabwe and will continue to rule it until the end of time.
The colonialists that we dislodged do not stand a chance and if they think Zimbabwe will revert to being a colony again they are mistaken.
Our brothers and sisters laid down their lives to free the country from colonial rule and we will not hand back the country.
Our enemies can bring everything in their armouries, but they are wasting time.
We are a people driven by forces stronger than any weapon that can be brought against us.
The resolve we had during difficult times, during the liberation struggles we still have.
It is the same resolve that will ensure the country remains safe from our enemies.
We enjoy our hard won freedom, bask in glory of independence, but we have not forgotten.
We are very much aware of the shenanigans of our former enemies who do not tire in their efforts to reverse the gains of independence, but they will not succeed for we remain forever vigilant.
