Well done High Court

EDITOR — I am pleased by the recent High Court ruling which upheld an earlier ruling on adultery damages.
The decision is a sign that Zimbabwe is bound by our moral values that should not be compromised by Western ideas.
As a parent and spouse, it is heartrending to note that some people no longer respect the marriage institution which has resulted in an increase of divorce cases.
This will deter would-be adulterers, some of whom have willingly adopted names such as ‘small house’ or ‘Ben 10s’ who are destroying people’s marriages through lust for money.
Thus if these people are sued and pay damages they will not go around wrecking marriages.
I pray that the landmark ruling helps curb the spread of HIV/AIDS which has ravaged society.
A lot of suicide cases, divorce and domestic violence are a direct result of adulterous relationships, therefore it must be nipped in the bud.
Healthy homes breed a healthy and productive society. This cascades even to the children and their performance in schools, therefore adultery should not be condoned.
