MOSES “Bambo” Chunga’s men go into battle in an intriguing encounter against a fired-up FC Platinum tomorrow afternoon at the giant National Sports Stadium. Tomorrow’s crunch match will have a bearing on Chunga’s fate as pressure is fast mounting on him to deliver. The Manchester Road Boys’ losing streak has not been welcomed by supporters who are already after Chunga’s head. A win tomorrow will do some good to the CAPS gaffer having succumbed to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Premiership defending champions Motor Action. FC Platinum coach Philani Mabhena will certainly need a win to justify his appointment after taking over the hot seat following the untimely death of Benjamin Moyo. A win will catapult the Premiership maidens to top the log. The cash-rich side already boasts 15 points, just one point adrift of log leaders, the Mighty Bulls. The absence of CAPS United forward Simba Sithole, who is in South Africa for trials with Maritzburg United, will have an impact on the team in desperate need of a win. “Kepe Kepe Bhora” opened the season on a winning note, but run out of steam against Blue Ribbon. With former Glamour Boys sensation Evans Gwekwerere now in CAPS United colours, Chunga is slowly being criticised for the dismal performance of the “Green Machine”. Black Mambas and CAPS United shared the spoils in a one-all draw before they edged Chicken Inn 1-0. However, the aggressive Bulls spoiled their party capitalising on a weak defence to bang in two goals last Saturday. The tide has been on Mabhena’s side which has registered three wins in a row and are determined to extend it. The Platinum Boys are on a rampage as they won the Battle of Maglas against Shabanie, for the first time, 3-0. Reigning Soccer Star of the Year Charles Sibanda opened the scoresheet converting a penalty while a brace from marksman Daniel Ngoma sealed the match. The Mambas, too, were not spared by the “monied” boys in green. The “Tamba Wakaguta” boys, Blue Ribbon, went a goal down to the Platinum miners. Meanwhile, soccer lovers will be in for a treat as the Mighty Warriors go to battle at Rufaro Stadium in a Zone VI All- Africa Games, first round, and second leg qualifier against Angola on Sunday. Entry is free of charge.
