Worried about Belgium interests

Published on

EDITOR – THE sudden u-turn of Belgium position to lobby its mother body, the European Union to lift sanctions on Zimbabwe is not innocent, but meant to pursue its interest of exploiting our diamonds in Marange.
Belgium and Europe diamond interests in Zimbabwe can be unmasked by the recent removal of sanctions on Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC) at the same time maintaining other embargos.
So Zimbabwe should not be fooled by such moves with hidden agenda by EU to exploit our resources.
It’s high time we promote the establishment of our own diamond trading hub and processing factories to add value to our precious stones.
Let us not forget that diamonds are different from maize.Once diamonds are extracted you do not expect them to image again.
We should protect our precious minerals from exploitation and make sure they fuel the development of our country.
