Trump: Do we have another Tsvangirai on our hands?

Published on

THE last presidential debate again proved to be illuminating.
I noted that there are some similarities between Republican candidate, Donald Trump, and perennial election loser, Morgan Tsvangirai.
The women, the provocative language, wild accusations and, of course, the rigging claims.
To sum it up, Trump made allegations of voter fraud claiming millions of ineligible people cast ballots.
These alleged ineligible people are of course from south of the border, who will probably vote for his opponent, Hillary Clinton, because he wants to build a giant wall to keep them out.
There have been charges of sexual misconduct against Trump, which he denies, claiming they were ‘probably’ generated by Clinton’s campaign.
He has also lashed out against the news media, labelling it as corrupt. Finally, he has also suggested that he just might not concede the election if he lost.
He flatly denied allegations of aggressive sexual misconduct from about a dozen women who have come forward since the second debate.
It would seem the Republican Presidential candidate is a pervert and a predator.
Speaking to the New York Times, one of Trump’s victims, businesswoman Jessica Leeds said, he lifted her armrest and touched her inappropriately while on a flight in the early 1980s.
Trump reportedly talked about dating young girls once they reached maturity.
A 1992 wire service report said he joked to 14-year-old girls that he would be dating them ‘in a few years’.
In CBS footage from around the same time, he said to a 10-year-old girl that he would be ‘dating her in 10 years’.
Over the past few weeks, Trump has upped his rigging allegations against the Democrats and the Establishment.
On Monday, October 17, Trump cited studies he said showed rampant voter fraud, saying the November 8 election was ‘rigged’ against him.
Of course he is yet to substantiate these claims.
The alleged rigging methods include dead people voting, illegal immigrants voting and the media allegedly pushing false and unsubstantiated charges and outright lies in order to present Hillary Clinton in favourable light to the voters.
Interestingly, Republican officials have come out in numbers attacking Trump on these allegations.
It would seem the motor-mouth candidate’s accusations have an overall negative effect on the Republican party and it is not in agreement with the statements.
Chris Ashby, a Republican election lawyer, said Trump’s attacks on the electoral process were unprecedented and risked creating a fiasco on election day.
Ashby also said that Trump was ‘destabilising’ the election by encouraging his supporters to deputise themselves as amateur poll monitors, outside the bounds of the law.
I think of all the outlandish things that Trump has done, his remarks at the final debate that he would not accept the election results if he does not win the election proves just how terrible a president he would be.
Such behaviour is typical of African opposition leaders, who at each election claim that the processes are rigged and thus they cannot win.
This claim has become a default setting for those who know they are going to lose elections and want to hide behind a finger.
His wild allegations of vote rigging could see some of his less than knowledgeable supporters intimidating voters at the polls, strong- arming officials and even violent attacks where there are suspicions that ‘illegal immigrants’ are voting.
Trump has managed, through his careless talk, to disenfranchise non-whites by labelling them illegal and making them targets.
He has also bred fear among whites and other communities and this creates an environment that is not conducive to free and fair elections.
The smooth transition of power from one president to another is under threat because of Trump’s nonsense.
There is a possibility that there could be violent protests should he not win.
We have all seen the chanting crowds and the violence at Trump’s rallies.
One does not need to be a rocket scientist to know that the situation is volatile and Trump is the spark that would light the keg.
On a lighter note, it would seem each time Trump does not win, it is because the ballot has been ‘rigged’.
It turns out Trump thinks the reason his TV show ‘The Apprentice’ has never won an Emmy Award is because that Television Academy is also rigged.
An Emmy Award recognises excellence in the television industry.
It would seem even the TV people are against Trump, conspiracy much!
