Men committed to national duty

Published on

EDITOR – I AM one of the ardent readers of the many feature articles in The Patriot.
I have followed and studied closely articles by Dr Vimbai Gukwe Chivaura (who to me should be referred as Professor of Heritage and History) and Professor Mpepereki.
I have just finished reading Dr Chivaura’s ‘The origins of the word Shona’ and Professor Mpepereki’s ‘Reclaiming our spiritual independence: Part 16’.
I am confident that I am not the only reader of The Patriot who would want to continue dialoguing with these contributors to your paper.
Could you please secure from these two scholars for me their e-mails so that I can thank them directly for their contribution to our knowledge and for giving us a better understanding of our history and our intangible cultural heritage?
Please extend to them my appreciation for their commitment to the national duty of making us aware of crucial aspects of our heritage.
Congratulations for a newspaper that is truly a textbook for all.

Stephen Chifunyise
