My advice to fellow youths

Published on

EDITOR – A FEW months ago there was a story of teenagers who had what they called a ‘skin out party’ in Chitungwiza and now three minors were found dead after a pool party last Saturday in Highlands.
This has really got me worried because this is an alarming sign of how Zimbabwean youths have gone off track.
Universities and other tertiary institutions appear to be producing directionless youths that are irresponsible.
Pool parties, naked parties, alcohol and drug abuse, homosexuality and even the way they dress and talk has no trace of our culture.
They are copying Western behaviour and living like they have no future.
Our youths are adopting foreign culture with all its immoral acts.
We are a disciplined nation and that is the reason we have peace, but if we continue on this path of hedonism we are headed for disaster.
It appears that although we are independent we are still colonised mentally and it can only take newspapers like The Patriot to deal with this problem.
We have a culture we can be proud of as Zimbabwean youths.
We are going to be the parents in future.
However, we need to go back to our roots and know who we are if we are to keep Zimbabwe alive.
