‘Thank you President Mugabe’

Published on

EDITOR —THE President Cde Robert Mugabe is currently on a ‘meet the youth campaign’ otherwise known as the ‘Presidential Youth Interface Rallies’.
Recently, on August 12 2017 to be precise, His Excellency descended on a packed Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda. Young people from across Matabeleland South Province thronged the provincial capital to spend the day with the Grandmaster who has championed not only the country’s but the cause of every downtrodden person in the world.
What made the day special is that it coincided with the International Youth Day which is celebrated the world over.
Editor, it is my considered view that we give prominence to the President’s continued meetings with more young people who form the large part of the country’s entire population.
It is in such gatherings that we tell the President the challenges we face as youths, regardless of one’s political affiliation.
I applaud the ZANU PF national secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzanayi Chipanga, for highlighting challenges the youths in Matabeleland South Province are facing.
Cde Dingumuzi Phuti, the provincial chairperson also weighed in, presenting a full picture of affairs in the province to the President.
Not only do His Excellency’s visits afford us time to air our challenges, it unites us as young people as we gather in huge numbers and share ideas at such a grand stage.
In conclusion, I would like to thank Cde Mugabe for agreeing to meet us, despite his tight schedule.
Also words of appreciation go to Cde Chipanga and the provincial organising committee led by Cde Phuti for ensuring the success of the Matabeleland South Presidential Youth Interface Rally.
Don’t tire comrades.
