We can avoid road accidents

Published on

EDITOR – THE festive season is here and it is my sincere hope that people exercise caution on our roads.
In fact, it is worrisome that road accidents seem to be increasing nowadays.
As it is, many people have died from numerous road accidents.
There was a recent one in Domboshava and another in Beitbridge where people perished.
I think it is important for the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, the Vehicle Inspection Department and the Zimbabwe Republic Police to ensure that sanity prevails on our roads.
It must also be the responsibility of motorists to make sure that they observe traffic regulations.
Besides that, motorists must also make sure that that their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on a journey.
Simple things like good tyres, wipers, headlights, in fact just everything about the vehicle must be in order before a road trip.
This is the only way we can avoid road accidents.
Most importantly we must not drink and drive.
I repeat don’t drink and drive.
Please as Zimbabweans let us be responsible.
