EDITOR – AFTER listening to Wallace ‘Winky D’ Chirumiko’s song featuring Oliver Mtukudzi, I was convinced this is one of the best collaborations for 2016.
In fact, it is a contender for the best song in 2016.
Besides the exquisite beat, I bet this song appeals to both the young and old.
Titled ‘Panorwadzwa Moyo’, the message is not just mature, but also thought-provoking.
Yes, sometimes we wonder why our loved ones leave us just like that.
Yes death is a necessary end, but at times you can’t help it, but ask the almighty kuti sei mamutora?
And yes panorwadza moyo as Winky D and Tuku put it across.
Everyday people are trekking to different graveyards across the country to bury their loved ones and indeed yave kuita kunge nzvimbo yekutandarira as the two artistes say.
I have no doubt Winky D has matured over the years and this song alongside Samanyanga is testimony to that.
No doubt it is one beautiful, but emotional song.
Editor I have nothing against Mukudzei ‘Jah Prayzah’ Mukombe, but I would like to think he must take some notes from the collaboration yaWinky D and Tuku.
Comparing ‘Panorwadza Moyo’ and Jah Prayzah featuring Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz ‘Watora Mari’ or even ‘Mudhara Vachauya’ would be very wrong, but I can’t help it.
‘Panorwadza Moyo’ is in a league of its own and as I said earlier, it cuts across all ages.
It is a song about the people and for the people, unlike Jah Prayzah’s unusual recent club bangers that do not carry meaningful messages unlike his previous works.
It would be ideal for Winky D and Tuku to have a video for their beautiful song because that will surely be the icing on the cake.
