Zimbabwe needs a national philosophy

EVERY nation that is free and proud of its sovereignty has a philosophy of life.
Its social and economic institutions are guided by its philosophy of life.
Its education curriculum from nursery school to the university level is guided by its philosophy of life.
The activities of its people are guided by their philosophy of life as a nation.
So are their information and entertainment industries and academies of arts and culture.
All are guided by their philosophy of life as a nation.
The films, songs, plays, games, and dances they produce, perform or broadcast on radio and television; and the stories and poems they write and publish in their newspapers, novels and books; espouse and celebrate their philosophy of life as a free and sovereign people or nation. Businessmen, soldiers, scholars, priests and policemen are equally inspired by the philosophy of their nation in carrying out their duties and responsibilities to the nation.
The Western world is a good example of this.
Its philosophy of life is derived from the Bible which it bends to suit its world ambitions.
“Thou shall not bow down to other gods beside me,” is twisted to mean that the West should never tolerate or respect any people or cultures whose values and views of life and God are different from the West.
They buttress this by a follow-up which says, “Subdue the earth and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
This is used in support of imperialism, colonialism, capitalism, racism, apartheid and exploitation, oppression and enslavement of African people as the will of God.
They used it to justify the scramble for Africa and partitioning of its land, soils and wealth among European nations as the will of God.
Western policy on foreign affairs, international law, international relations and the so-called international best practices are based on “Subdue the earth and have dominion over it” as a philosophy of conquest which helps the West to present its global ambitions to its unsuspecting victims as a sacred mission commissioned by the Bible.
Where Western nations are in conflict among themselves, outsiders who are not European dare not interfere.
The philosophy of non-interference in Western affairs is derived from the story of ‘Cain and Abel’ in the Bible which the West bends to its own advantage.
Cain murders his brother, Abel.
God banishes him from the Garden of Eden.
Cain is afraid that strangers may kill him on his way from the garden to the land of Nod.
He pleads with God to protect him.
God assures him that, “Whosoever slays Cain shall be punished sevenfold.”
Cain’s murder of his brother Abel is a lesser evil than a foreigner’s attempt to harm him, according to the Western philosophy of solidarity among European nations to protect one another against those they have dispossessed of life, land and wealth.
Rhodesian colonisation of Zimbabwe and the killing of African ancestors are a lesser crime than the Land Reform Programme by Africans to reclaim their land from Rhodesians.
Zimbabweans who dare do so face the full wrath of being punished sevenfold by the whole Western World in the name of Jesus.
Only Europeans have a right to interfere as saviours or soldiers in the affairs of Africans such as elections in Zimbabwe and the wars in Libya, Egypt, Mali, Somalia and the Congo.
European interference in them as international peace-keeping-soldiers is spread as a sacred mission through song, music and dance by the Church.
‘Onward Christian Soldiers, Marching as to War wielding the Cross of Jesus as a Sword’ is one such song.
It is taught in school and church to all white children and converted Africans and their children. They sing it in Church and in nursery school and college.
By the time they become adults, they are seasoned soldiers ready to die for the West in the name of Jesus.
Zimbabwe needs its own philosophy of life as a nation.
It should be based on the values of the liberation struggle.
It should be called ‘Chimurenga’.
Chimurenga as a philosophy inspired The First and Second Chimurenga and the Land Reform Programme in Zimbabwe.
It animated and possessed the entire people of Zimbabwe during the elections of July 31 2013.
It must animate all players in all organisations and institutions in delivering their responsibilities to the nation.
The education curriculum of Zimbabwe from nursery to university level must be informed by the spirit of Chimurenga as a national philosophy of struggle and survival for Zimbabwe as a free and sovereign nation.
Chimurenga as a national philosophy will ensure that every Zimbabwean is a freedom fighter ready to work, develop and defend Zimbabwe and all its wealth from Zambezi to Limpopo as their God-given heritage.
