Why refuse 50 dollar notes?

EDITOR – I WRITE to you as a concerned citizen.

I live in Chitungwiza and something very disturbing has been happening for the past week.

There are some businesspersons who are no longer accepting our Zimbabwe 50 dollar note as mode of payment.

They are only accepting the 100 dollar notes.

What could be the reason behind this?

I hate to think that some people out there are already sabotaging efforts by our Government to improve the livelihoods of the masses.

What are we supposed to do as citizens?

I recently tried to buy one-or-two things using our 50 dollar notes around tuckshops in Chitungwiza, but they were all refusing them and they couldn’t even give me a reason.

My fear now is that this trend will soon spread to other places in Harare and countrywide.

Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr John Mangudya and other responsible authorities must be made aware of this very bad development in Chitungwiza.

Why is it our very own businesspersons are no longer accepting the 50 dollar note?

Even some vendors selling vegetables varikutoti ma50 bond haachashanda.

I desperately need answers because I am livid.
